In partnership with the Bayer Foundation, IEP conducted a comprehensive baseline assessment for the Women Economic Empowerment (WEE) initiative in Kaduna, Nigeria. The assessment outlines the foundation for a three-year project aimed at enhancing income generation, agricultural productivity, healthcare access, and overall economic empowerment for women in the region.

Focused on nine Local Government Areas (LGAs), with initial attention on Kaura and Jema’a, the report uses the Positive Peace Index (PPI) to evaluate societal resilience and highlights the critical links between security, social development, and economic conditions. It identifies key gaps in access to resources, healthcare, and economic opportunities for women, particularly in rural areas, while also demonstrating the potential for improved security through the initiative.
