The 19th World Summit of Nobel Peace Laureates will take place in Nuevo León, Mexico, from September 18 to 21 at the GNP Auditorium.
The summit comes at a critical time. Under the theme “Peace and Progress: A Path to Collective Prosperity,” it will bring together more than 15 of the world’s most distinguished peacemakers to identify gaps in the current global peace architecture and propose innovative solutions. The event aims to foster a renewed spirit of collaboration in the pursuit of a more peaceful and equitable future. The Institute for Economics & Peace will participate in the "Education for Peace" panel and lead the workshop "Using Positive Peace as a Context Assessment and Project Design Tool".
The Positive Peace framework, developed by the Institute for Economics and Peace, identifies the factors that create and sustain peaceful societies. It consists of eight pillars: well-functioning government, sound business environment, equitable distribution of resources, respect for the rights of others, good relations with neighbors, free flow of information, high levels of human capital, and low corruption. Together, these pillars support sustainable peace by addressing the root causes of conflict, promoting social cohesion, and creating an environment where people can thrive.e.
