2026 UN Water Conference Organizational session

In preparation for the 2026 UN Water Conference, IEP will present a statement to the General Assembly on the critical issue of water risk. Drawing on findings from its Ecological Threat Report, IEP will highlight the growing connection between water scarcity and conflict. The report underscores the increasing risk of conflict driven by water challenges and calls for urgent investment in water use efficiency measures. IEP further highlights the need to address the connection between water risk and conflict as a key focus in the conference's interactive dialogues.
