Since 2017, Rotary International and the Institute for Economics and Peace (IEP) have formed a strategic partnership. This collaboration builds on IEP's empirical research into Positive Peace - the attitudes, institutions and structures of peaceful societies - as well as Rotary’s grassroots work in communities around the globe. Through this partnership, IEP and Rotary share a strong commitment to investing in the preconditions and environments that are conducive to sustainable peace.

As part of this strategic partnership focusing on both education and community-based programming, Rotary and IEP have developed an international network of peacebuilders, the Positive Peace Activators.

The Partnership is now initiating the seventh cohort in the Oceania region.
